- Dear PC Pursuit User:
-
- Well, a lot has been done to make GT more PC Pursuit compatible. First,
- the Carrier Detect signal is no longer used to detect connect. The modem
- result codes are now used exclusively. This enables ALL the dial routines
- to work with PC Pursuit. Second, I have included a script for PC Pursuit
- with the GT package. It allows you to connect with any city on the network,
- then use the dialing routines of GT to connect with the BBS's. This provides
- a very easy way to use PC Pursuit. I suggest that you modify the script, so
- that your password and ID are included, instead of making you enter them
- each time you run the script.
-
- One gotcha tho, the modems on the network return "verbose" result codes.
- Because of this you must change the "Modem Init String" to include a V1
- instead of a V0, and you must also change the "Modem Result Codes" to
- their verbal couterparts. This should not be too difficult to do, once
- done it need not be redone.
-
- One change to the config that would benefit PC Pursuit users is to erase the
- Speaker-on and Speaker-off strings. These strings tend to confuse the city
- modems on the network. After erasing these speaker control strings, place the
- desired Mn command into your Modem Init String, or just let it default to the
- switch settings of your modem.
-
- Happy Networking!
-
- Regards,
- Paul Meiners

- PS: The script PURSUIT.SCR is meant to be installed in your phone directory
- as the logon script for the Telenet Access number. It is setup to use
- Telenet and PC Pursuit in the 8-bit mode, DO NOT USE EVEN PARITY with
- this script. If necessary you should change all of your 7-E entries
- in your phone directory to 8-N, as far as PC Pursuit goes at any rate.
